Veteran tech critic Marques Brownlee has released his review of 2015’s top five budget smartphones under $300 -- and they might just be better than your constantly crashing, battery-draining device.

According to Brownlee, these budget handsets use the same tech found in the fancier flagship smartphones that were released a year or two ago for between $700 and $900. Overall, Brownlee is impressed with the strong battery life, displays and storage space on the cheaper models, but he warns of minor technological shortcomings that naturally come with lower price points.
